I am based in Brampton, Cumbria, and I have many years of experience working in the industry, designing and overseeing the delivery of various landscape schemes, including private gardens and large building developments.

Each garden design is bespoke to the individual needs of my clients. Every garden is unique in its style and the requirements of its owner. If you’re in a dilemma and looking at your garden and don’t know where to start, I can help!

Garden design is not just for big gardens or big budgets.

Garden design is not out of reach to the small domestic private garden. I offer the basic plan to get you started - sometimes, this is all you need to get quotes to have the garden landscaped or decide to tackle it yourself! Many of my clients start with a concept design and then build it in phases as time and budget allow. One of the best compliments I get is when my clients say things like:

“Oh wow, I’d never have thought of doing that!”

“I can’t believe how much bigger my garden looks!”

Some people assume that garden design services and dream gardens are exclusively for those with big budgets. Others wonder whether or how they can justify the expenditure.

I believe that dream gardens can be envisioned and brought to life with small budgets and that it’s possibly one of the best investments you could ever make.

It is often assumed that good design is all about the plants in the garden, but it is, in fact, about the feel and shapes created and connecting a house and garden. The plants are just the icing on the cake!

So often, I’m told that “I have been to the garden centre and just bought what I liked the look of, planted it when I got home, but unfortunately it has died or grown too big!!” ‘I’ve ended up spending a fortune on plants, but it still doesn’t look right!”

I can take all these problems away.

Finding the right plant for the right place is key! Knowing your soil and knowing the types of plants that will grow well in your garden.

My designs are all initially hand drawn to scale, so this gives the landscaper the vision and measurements for them to estimate how much the garden will cost to be built. Often the hard landscaping can be the biggest cost in having your garden designed, but this can also be done in stages and designing your garden to start with will save lots of money in the long run.

One of the most important questions I ask my clients when we meet is, “What do you want from your garden?”

Everyone is different; therefore, each client’s vision of a dream garden will be different too. When I start working with you, I’m not interested in what’s trending on Instagram or what’s the hottest new thing to have. I’m interested in you, your lifestyle, your favourite colours, your personality, your wants and needs and dreams.

I believe that garden design should be a collaborative process, with you and your needs at the heart of it.

That’s why I strive to make our work together as easy as possible for you. I pride myself on being approachable, understanding, a good listener and easy to get on with.

If you have any questions about how the process work, please do not hesitate to contact me.
